WORK PACKAGE 1 (WP – 1): Development of a Quality Assurance Framework for the Guidance of Disadvantaged Job Seekers into initial vocational training

Duration: 8 months
Aims
• To define and document the process of guidance of disadvantaged job seekers in each partner country and to identify how this currently relates to initial training across the partnership
•
To identify and define existing Quality Assurance Frameworks (in general and also those specifically relating to Guidance, Training or Education) both nationally within the partnership and also within a European context
•
To explore how existing Quality Assurance Frameworks can be used to develop a framework specific to guidance in initial training
To outline the process of developing a Quality Assurance Framework based on the European Common Quality Assurance Framework and other national Frameworks e.g. FETAC
•
To develop and expand the contacts between the project partners and to build a strong focused partnership
•
To hold the First Transnational Meeting
•
To inform local and national agencies about the project and to promote it across the partnership
•
To organise the information flow and communication structures among the co-ordinator and project partners
•
To adapt the project according to supplied financing
•
Establishment of Advisory Committee and local reference group (consisting of disadvantaged job seekers and those in low skill employment)
WORK PACKAGE 2 (WP – 2): The Design and Development of a Battery of Assessment/Guidance tools for the Guidance of disadvantaged job seekers and low skill employed into initial vocational training which meets the Quality Assurance Framework as developed in WP1

Duration: 13 months
Aims
•
To research and identify existing Vocational Guidance tools (Vocational guidance is defined in this instance as the process of assisting a person in finding a suitable vocation. A vast battery of tools e.g. intelligence, vocational, interests, aptitude, achievement tests exist etc. A tool refers to a test or any procedure used to measure a factor or assess some ability) or Activities which can be used with disadvantaged job seekers/low skill employed which will elicit information about the individuals natural abilities and potential (Aptitudes, Personality style and Interests)

To develop 4/5 specifications for each Classification category (categories - Aptitudes, Personality style and Interests) based on research
•
To research and develop relevant content for the guidance tools specifically for this target group
•
To ensure that content and language used is appropriate across the partnership to groups including disadvantaged job seekers, workers in low skill/ low income jobs, disabled job seekers.
•
To ensure that tools are user friendly for administration and interpretation by career guidance specialists, mediators, human resource personnel, and professional psychological and educational groups.
•
To translate the tools into partner languages
•
To pilot the tools in terms of their usability
•
To adapt the tools based on results of the usability pilot
•
To pilot the battery of Guidance tools with disadvantaged job seekers/ low skill employed in 5 partner countries
•
To make an assessment on the use of the Battery for the guidance of the target group
•
To develop the Guidance model which meets the Quality Assurance Framework
•
To hold the 2nd Transnational meeting of the Partnership
WORK PACKAGE 3 (WP – 3): The Design, Development and Utilisation of the EGUIDE Web Laboratory
Start Date: July 2006Finish Date: 31 December 2007
Duration: 16 months
Aims
•
To design and develop a web based system which will hold:
- The battery of computer based guidance tools
- A database managed scoring system for the battery of guidance tools
- A database managed reporting system for the feedback of information for the battery of guidance tools
- Built in security system for confidentiality
- A system for generating individual training profiles for end users
- A system for generating norm based reference systems for practitioners
WORK PACKAGE 4 (WP – 4): The design and development of a Practitioner Manual for use with the Battery of Guidance Tools
Start Date: 1 January 2007
Finish Date: 31 December 2007
Duration: 8 months
- To design and develop a practitioner Manual that can be used by all practitioners, guidance professionals, Mediators, HR professionals etc.
- To design and develop a series of user friendly leaflets for the administration, practice, scoring, profiling, interpretation etc.
- To translate the Practitioner Manual and leaflets into Partner Languages
- To have all documentation available on the web laboratory (PDF format)
WORK PACKAGE 5 (WP – 5): Analysis of the Guidance Model, its fit to the Quality Assurance Framework and the design and development of the Research Report
Start Date: April 2007
Finish Date: 31 December 2007
Duration: 5 months
- To evaluate the Battery of Guidance Tools against the Quality Assurance Framework
- To write a research report outlining the Quality Assurance Framework and the developed model of Guidance
- To translate the report into partner languages
- To publish and launch the report
- To hold a seminar informed by the report
Work Package: Valorisation
Start Date: 1 October 2005
Finish Date: 31 December 2007
Duration: 24 months
- To disseminate and exploit the results of EGUIDE on a continuous basis
- To keep all stakeholders informed of the project progression and outcomes
- To develop a strong partnership where the results and learning from EGUIDE can be disseminated through the partners across the partnership
- To arrange local and national valorisation activities outlining what needs EGUIDE meets
- To plan how the results of EGUIDE can be sustained
- To identify what is to be disseminated and exploited
- To identify the most satisfactory method of Valorisation
- To identify a Valorisation time plan
- To identify the human and financial resources required
